About Orange Oil Termite Control and D-limonene Based Products

At Bug Central, our trained inspectors can determine the extent of your infestation and give you an honest evaluation of how effective a "no move out" termite control process will be for your home or structure.  D-limonene based termite and pest control products are not considered an alternative to tenting as the two processes are completely different and offer different pros and cons.  We want to offer our customers all the facts and explain the pros and cons of all termite treatment options so that you can make an educated decision when selecting your control method. Because we offer "no move out" treatments and tent fumigation, we can give you an unbiased opinion regarding your specific termite control needs.  Beware of companies that are only trying to sell you on one treatment option.  No infestation is the same and no single treatment method can handle every type of termite infestation.

Treatment Methods

D-limonene can be used to treat most areas of a structure. Areas once considered inaccessible become visible through the use of fiber optic scopes. When there is a reason to believe termite infestation extends into inaccessible areas such as wall voids, a small hole can be made to look inside. Once the extent of the termite infestations is known, treatments can be made to control the termites.  Once injected into the termite galleries, the d-limonene kills termites and their eggs. Termites not directly hit with the product will die if they eat any wood recently treated. Because d-limonene based products will biodegrade in a short time, we recommend using a low toxic residual chemical like Bora-Care® for long lasting protection.
